"Estrellita" was composed by Manuel Ponce (1882-1948) in 1913. "Estrellita" became such a popular work in Latin popular culture that it was soon revered as a folk tune of long standing instead of a composition from the beginning of the twentieth century. Originally written for voice and piano, the singer tells Estrellita, the little star, of her burning love and the anguish it causes.
This arrangement was written for the Strolling Strings by Sgt. Major (ret) Alex Smith.
